As we continue to plan the upcoming Hawaii Dermatology Seminar, our thoughts are with those impacted by the tragic fires on Maui.
The Big Island, where Hawaii Derm will take place, was not as impacted by the conditions. Residents there are doing what they can to help their neighbors on Maui in the Hawaiian spirit of family –‘ohana.
We know that dermatology is more than a specialty – it’s a family, too. We look forward to meetings like Hawaii Derm where we reconnect with our colleagues who have become like family to us.
We’re asking our dermatology ‘ohana to join us in supporting the people of Hawaii.
We are encouraging donations to organizations already at work on Maui, including:
Maui Strong Fund
A project of the Hawaii Community Foundation; 100% of proceeds will be distributed to community needs.
Aloha United Way
100% of proceeds will be directed to Maui United Way, whose partner agencies, including the Maui Food Bank, the RedCross and the SalvationArmy, are addressing the community’s most urgent needs.
As we look forward to joining together on the Big Island in February, let us not forget those in Hawaii who have lost much in this tragedy.
